Ian McMillan you will know for his popular and funny poetry and his regular appearances (and distinctive Yorkshire accent) on national radio and TV: “The Today Programme”, “Newsnight Review”, “Just a Minute”, “Have I got News For You” and lots more plus his own weekly radio show “The Verb”. If you read any national newspaper you will have seen Tony Husband’s hilarious cartoons – they regularly appear in Private Eye, The Times, Sunday Express and lots of others, plus he’s been crowned Cartoonist of the Year no fewer than ten times. Ian performs his solo poetry comedy spot and then while everyone’s still clutching their sides, he invites cartoonist Tony onstage for some off the cuff cartoon drawing. What follows is a brilliant half hour fed by YOUR local gossip/characters/local legends/ongoing planning nightmares which Ian and Tony ‘perform’ as comedy poetry, song and live large-scale cartoons drawn right in front of your eyes. You’ll end up with a memorable snapshot of that night and Tony gives away his drawings at the end.
