ABOUT BVC
Bulkington Village Centre (BVC) is a
charitable company set up in 1996 to take over a former school in the centre
of Bulkington & develop it into a multi-activity community centre. This
unique project has in large been funded by the National Lottery and is now a
financially self-supporting centre where all the profits are ploughed back
in for the benefit of all its users.
The Centre has drawn together a blend of
statutory & community services on one site. These include a Doctors Surgery,
NHS Clinic, Police Sub Station, Children's Centre, Nursery and Pre-School.
The centre also provides rooms to hire for conference & training purposes in
addition to social, educational & cultural purposes.
With thanks to the National Lottery,
Awards For All & local funding opportunities, modernisation and expansion of
the Centre has been made possible.
The Centre is run by a full-time Manager,
Fiona Wyatt, and two part-time Administrators, Sue Wyatt & Jos Kemp, who are
all available during normal office hours. There are also six others
employed to support the manager along with volunteers from the local
community without whose help we couldn't supply the service we do.
